Much like its neighboring communities, Bayfield draws a crowd for outdoor enthusiasts. It sits adjacent to two-million acres of San Juan National Forest, has the Pine River running through it and Lake Vallecito, which is the largest body of water at this elevation (7,800ft.) or higher in Colorado.
Bayfield is also known for its agriculture. The town serves as a supply hub as well as a very family-oriented network of innovators. Locals certainly enjoy an authentic small town experience.
