Grandpa Les got the call back into active Real Estate a couple of years ago when one of my adult grandsons became intrigued with getting his RE license.  He knew that in one segment of my career I had owned a United Country franchise office in Grand Jct (which was then United Farm Agency).

This adult grandson (who at age 21 was already successful as an entrepreneur), suggested that this United Country’s national franchise is

EXPLODING with growth in a very hot marketplace.  He said the local agency is owned by a great guy.  Also that the brokers in his office are friendly, helpful, and successful.  He said “Grandpa, you’ll feel at home”

The grandson was right!  I had so much fun closing deals and hooking up with friends and contacts I’ve known for years!!  What a way to go if you’re the type who would rather be doing a real estate deal than sitting in my favorite rocking chair!!!   I DON’T NEED YOUR ROCKING CHAIR

By the Way, Thankyou dear friends (A great attorney, a team in Title Insurance, a cooperative seller as well as several professionals) for your collaboration in the recent closing of a gravel pit.  I had it listed for a few months when LaPlata County Road and Bridge decided to make it their own.  It was not an easy closing (six months of focused effort), but that’s what keeps us on our toes.  $1,500,000 for the pit.  $400,000 for the permits.  Not a bad way to start the year.
